Our Content Process

To keep the site as well-rounded and provide as much value as possible to our readers, our content can be broadly categorized into three types.

Gear

Our gear round-ups give you an overview of the best (and our favorite) gear in a specific category such as the best 2-person tent or best camping stove). To develop this content, our team exhaustively research and shortlist as many products in the market as we can and place them in various buckets.

We know that everyone has a different budget, needs, and preferences when it comes to their gear. So, the buckets consist of a range of price points such as budget, value, and premium.

To provide you with a better understanding of the gear, we also have an in-depth buyer’s guide section. Here we cover the things you’ll need to know and questions you might have prior to purchasing. For example, we explain down fill power and sleeping pad R-values. Or if you’re undecided between a tent vs hammock, we have that covered too.

Tips

Looking to learn more about camping in general and your gear?

This is our favorite section of the site among all. We see this section as a place to share our wealth of knowledge when it comes to camping and outdoors. You can find everything from guides to trip planning to gear care and maintenance, and comfort and safety tips

Destinations

There is no point talking about gear when you don’t actually go outside and use them. And this is where the destinations section aims to achieve.

We write about the popular places among campers such as the Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, or the Smokies. Each guide will provide you with all the details you’ll need such as the best time to visit, things to see, popular campgrounds, and the best hiking routes around that area.

Revenue Disclosure

We always retain editorial independence when it comes to gear round-ups and we do not receive any financial compensation from manufacturers to have their products featured on our site.

We rely on affiliate revenue to build, maintain and continue growing this site. We earn a commission when you purchase through the links or buttons in our articles.

The price on the merchant’s website is the same to you; the merchant pays us a cut from their profit margin with no additional charges to you. And if you decide to return the product, we earn nothing.
